Posted 16 September - Post your stock tips here! I'm sure the way stocks are calculated varies from game to game, but I wanted to at least get a list of mission-related stock value spikes and drops. I'll try to update this post with any good info. Also seeking information on just how the heck the market works, how to attack a company to drive their stock down and their competitor's up, etc.

BAWSAQ never wants to work for me, so anyone with info on it is encouraged to share! List of LCN stocks: Sell anything you have invested in them before this.

Not sure if there's a competing gem company to invest in before-hand, didn't see one. Sell anything you've invested in them before this mission cause it'll tank badly. And I wouldn't bother ever investing in them again, as I tried when it bottomed out but it never really recovered.

Forbidden

Sell anything you have invested in Bilkington. Lester mentions he invested heavily in Betta, but I didn't see them in the LCN.

Are they somewhere else?

Market Psychology and The Emotional Market Cycle

I also noticed DollarPills tank as well. Before you even start this mission, sell anything you have invested in Redwood, and invest everything you've got into Debonaire. Don't do it during the mission cause there's a tight timer. I was in a hurry and only did it for Franklin. When the mission is over, wait a good few minutes as the stock value will continue to rise. Merriweather Dockyards secret government device mission: The line graph doesn't seem to be at all accurate. I see it claim that the price was high the previous day, but it was more like a week ago.

And it doesn't seem to accurately update with the current prices. Better off just looking at the raw numbers, and getting an idea of what is considered high and low for each stock. If you invest in a company and then go wreck their competitor's stuff, it should increase your stock value. Sink money into AirEMU, prefferably when the stock is already low, then go blow up FlyUS planes.

Or buy CluckinBell stock and go rob and destroy a few Burgershot stores. Or invest in one car company, then destroy their competitor's cars, preferably at their dealership. We've been experimenting with this and it doesn't exactly pan out as expected. You can't enter most stores such as Burgershot, and can't find these supposed car dealerships or other company buildings.

And we've spent hours blowing up GoPostal and Pisswasser trucks but never really saw their or their competitor's stock fluctuate.

Any other good tips? Seriously, the title should have spoiler tag and the spoilers need to be blacked out.

Since the game is released, spoiler tags on posts won't be stressed. Only adding "[SPOILERS]" to the TOPIC title will suffice. Posted 17 September - Apologies mate, but the whole point of a thread on stock tips is to gain advanced notice of game events. That's why I posted in the Cheats and Tricks section instead of the main forum, which is honestly littered with spoilers.

Besides, I only mentioned the titles of missions and stock names..

Here's a tip, don't do what anyone tells you to because that's what everyone else is going to do. Ive just started Lester missions and about to do the first heist. Can you explain when you get assination missions after that?

I want to save them untill i have alot of money to put down on stocks?. They come a bit after. They're with Franklin working for Lester without the others involved. Pretty sure you've unlocked Trevor at that point. I'd already blown a bunch of money on stupid properties, so the best tip I can give is to not buy any properties for a while.

Just do as many of the other missions as you can, try not to waste too much money on gun and car upgrades. After the heist mission, takes a while for Lester to sell off the diamonds. But once he does, each character should have a few hundred grand in their accounts.

Should be able to double or triple that with each of those assassination missions.

So has anyone else found any good ways to anticipate the market? I've looked for hints in the game, but mostly it's just about when someone is going to tank, and not when another is going to spike. Seems like most companies don't have many competitors.

If anyone has an idea of how to get that one electric car company Hijak's stock to go up, it's always dirt cheap and should yield a pretty good magnification.

Posted 18 September - I just did the Vangelico heist but their stock price didn't go down.

I've been checking it every so often but the stock price has barely been changing. Any clues on what's going on? That's pretty weird, it should happen immediately. When you click on the bank's main site, on the right does it give you a few clips of recent stock news?

Should mention in there that Vangelico plummeted. And don't look at the graph, look at the stock price on the right side. It's not a big deal, cause it's not a great idea to invest in them after the heist anyway. I tried it and the price never really went back up. But if you're all the way to Trevor, it may have already come and gone. I wouldn't worry about it, wasn't very profitable.

Just wait for Franklin's assassination missions coming soon. If you go around causing car accidents, that makes the insurance company's stock go up?

Seems backwards, as insurance companies only profit when they have to pay out on FEWER accidents. I wonder if their stock will go up if you destroy dealership's cars, too. All 3 of the main stories are still about Lifeinvader for some reason. Yeah the stock price has been sitting around this whole time. Don't know when I could have missed the drop. Ok good to hear cheers! Im on the Hostel assassination mission, and your right i cant find any company called Betta? Has any1 got any idea what to invest in before this mission?

What are some good companies to start investing in? I haven't done the 1st heist and only have 2k for Franklin and 7k for Michael. I got that the "insider info" from a random encounter mission guy from LC told me that I should invest in Tinkle once I dropped him off at the airport.

But I CAN'T guarantee that it's the same for you, might be on a game to game basis the stocks could change, like maybe it's some other company for you. Also, there is a Franklin-Lester mission that is about Vapid shares. Once the mission is over, BUY Vapid shares cause they go up again they drop heavily after the mission.

Don't hold onto Debonaire and BettaPharmaceuticals for too long ditch BettaP fast, it drops quite a bit after a short while. I think Bleeters stock rises after the Lifeinvader mission, don't know for sure though need confirmation on this. Thank you Cyfun for all the trading tips so far!

Don't have XBL, my 's network adapter is borked. Don't tell me I have to be online to get half the game to work? Glad to see good deeds don't always go unrewarded haha. This is precisely why you should help all the random event folks that you can. Usually the purse-grabs are pretty useless, but when someone gets their bike or car stolen, those will benefit you later. Just be sure and sell the stock asap. As much as I like the idea of an online economy that involves other players, it should be separate from my singleplayer game.

Especially since the online crap is apparently unstable as hell. Oh, also, I've been experimenting with getting other stocks to fluctuate. Was driving around in a delivery truck earlier, which caused more delivery trucks to spawn. Stole a GoPostal van, blew it up, and saw GoPostal's stock drop a bit while PostOP's go up a bit.

Here's the weird thing, though. After I blew up the Pisswasser trailer, I had cops on my tail. So I ran into an alley, quickly whipped out my phone to see what the stock prices were doing. But then some cop started shooting so I backed out to run and hide again. So I backed out again, lost the cops properly, and went back to the portfolio. HOWEVER, when I sold all my stock, I didn't make one damn dollar!

It just gave me about the same amount that I initially invested! Thanks for that cross-reference, theldog! Didn't realize Up-n-Atom competed against Burgershot. Any idea how one would go about attacking Up-n-Atom, though? Or the pharma companies? Or the Law firms?
